I have found the main problem with trying to get a domain name you want is that far too many people and companies buy a particular name when they don’t need it and then don’t actually use it.

They just keep hold of it hoping to be able to sell it on at a good price or park it and whack loads of links on the site it is being used for.

Very selfish on their part and very frustrating for those of us who would actually use it for a niche or product especially if it has a .com extension.

Really the Registrar companies such as GoDaddy should do something about it so that if a particular name is not used within a certain amount of time, then the purchaser forfeits it and it gets put back on the market.
