When it comes to humans and our attention spans they are very much like that of a child where by they tend to be short and I know that when it comes to me alot of the time I only ready for a minute or two if that then click to the next site usually. This is why when I write sales pages online I treat the aspect of getting the person’s attention with great detail as it is very important because once you have their attention it becomes easier to hold it. When I look at alot of website sales letters online they dont get my attention and there is several things I would try to improve.

First of all I would start at the very top of the sales letter which starts with writing an extremely catching headline however the way to do this is to remember that customers care about themselves, what they need and what they want. I have learnt over the years that customers will always buy benefits not features, the reason for this is because people are always interseted in what will this do for me after all I mean how many times have you been asked to buy something and you have either thought to yourself or said well what will this do for me and this is why you must keep your headline targetted to what your product or service will do for the customer such as “This will reduce your energy bill by 40%” that is the type of headline that will create curiosity and get your customer reading and with this in mind never ever tell your customer about your problems etc.

Any sales letter that is going to attract the customers attention has to be emotive, lively and exciting therefore with the use of emotive words you will not only get the customer feeling involved in what they are reading but you will get the customers emotions relating to it also. Over the years I have learnt that if you can get a customers emotionally involved you have pretty much won yourself a sale as there is not many people who fight their emotions very well.

Always speak about yourself, the benefits of your offer rather than the features, if its a money making product you have then be sure to also focus on how much money the person reading your sales letter can be making with your product and of course tell them how much your other clients have made while always being positive in writing your sales letters.

Always remember when writing tell the customer the most positive and emotive story that you can whilst particularly highlighting the main points involved.

Regards Always
